If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to eat Nigerian classics in a super fancy way, then Ile Eros is your spot. This restaurant which is located at 14 Kafayat Abdulrasaq street , lekki phase 1 takes familiar local dishes and gives them a serious upgrade. So, one evening, my colleague and I decided to hit up Ile Eros for what we thought would be a regular dinner. Spoiler alert—it wasn’t! We ended up having one of the best food experiences ever.
The Vibes? Immaculate
Walking into Ile Eros, it felt like we stepped into a mix of modern Nigerian culture and fine dining. Soft lights, artsy vibes, and a décor that’s both posh and chill. You know how some fancy places make you feel out of place if you’re not decked out? Yeah, not Ile Eros. It’s fancy but in a way that makes you feel right at home.
The VIP Treatment
Now, here’s something that completely blew us away: the customer service. From the moment we sat down, the staff treated us like actual celebrities. No exaggeration—we were getting that 5-star, red carpet treatment. They were super polite, helped with our orders, and made sure everything was perfect without hovering. At this point, we were starting to feel like big shots, no lie.
What We Ordered (Brace Yourself)
We decided to go all out and ordered a bunch of different dishes, starting with the Smoked Chicken Yaji Pasta. Now, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a pasta dish with yaji (pepper spice), but it was the perfect balance of creamy and spicy. The chicken was tender, and that yaji spice kicked things up a notch. At ₦14,820, it was hands down worth it.
Of course, we had to get something traditional, so we ordered the Amala, which came in at ₦14,050. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “₦14k for amala?!” But hear me out—it was served gourmet style, soft and smooth, with a rich stew that made every bite heavenly. It’s like the amala, you know, but in a tuxedo.
Then, came the Zobo Habanero Ribs. These ribs were tender and juicy, with a zing from the zobo that took them to another level. At ₦6,550, it was an amazing deal. The sweet-spicy combo was so good, we wished we’d ordered a second plate.
Being seafood lovers, we couldn’t skip the Spicy Seafood Tempura. It was crispy on the outside with juicy prawns and fish on the inside, all spiced to perfection with this very sweet mustard sauce. At ₦10,700, it wasn’t cheap, but the flavours were on point. If you love seafood and a little kick of spice, this dish is calling your name.
Refreshing Sips
For drinks, we kept it classic with a Premium Chapman (₦6,000) and a Mojito (₦8,000). The Chapman was refreshing and sweet, with just the right amount of tang. As for the Mojito? Let’s just say one sip, and you’ll feel like you’re lounging on a beach somewhere far away. Both drinks hit the spot.
Ending on a Sweet Note
No meal is complete without dessert, and Ile Eros did not disappoint. We tried the Zobo Cheesecake (₦7,000), which was a fun twist on the traditional cheesecake. It had that tangy zobo flavour that cut through the creaminess—honestly, it was one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time. And because we couldn’t stop there, we also got the Carrot Cake (₦4,500). It was moist and flavorful, and the cream cheese frosting? Chef’s kiss!
The Verdict?
Ile Eros is not just about food; it’s an experience. From the amazing service (seriously, we felt like royalty) to the delicious and unique takes on Nigerian dishes, everything was on point. Yes, it might look a bit pricey, but if you want to treat yourself or celebrate something special, this is the place to do it.
